May 1996, International Welfare Association (IWA) has been established in Japan.


The International Welfare Association (IWA) is a non-governmental organization that facilitates donation of educational and sporting goods, clothing, rice, instant and canned foods. Also, they helped in carrying out the construction of deep wells, public toilets and the like. The main targets of IWA are the elementary and high schol students as well as the street children.

 

IWA had done numerous activities in promoting welfare in some parts of the Philippines. Some of the places that IWA had visited are as follows:

  • Panay Island, Ilo-ilo, with coordination and cooperation of Ni-kei Jin Kai Kan (Japanese-Filipino descendants), Senator Gregorio Honasan, and Rotary Club of Jaro
  • Nueva Viscaya
  • Pao,Tarlac
  • Malolos, Bulacan

Functions and Activities of IWA

  • Exchange of information on zoological and botanical in Asian countries and training of their staff members.
  • Design of animal calendars and bulletins to zoos and board of education staff.
  • Pinatubo relief and restoration of the area.
  • Housing project for low-income families in Asian countries.
  • Invitation of foreign students from all Asian countries.
  • Job training in manufacturing and service industries.
